Thank you for your interest in Tau Rho Beta Society. Within this section you will find information on the qualifications to become a member.

 

Classes 

 

Membership in the Society shall be limited to persons of good moral character who have been initiated in accordance with these Bylaws. Members shall be divided into four classes: (1) undergraduate; any member actively enrolled at a college/university where an active chapter exists, and has not completed an undergraduate degree, (2) alumnus; any member who has been initiated at an college/university and has not received an undergraduate degree, and has been out of school two years or more (3) graduate; members who were initiated as an undergraduate member and received the undergraduate degree (4) general members; any member that is not an alumnus, and is not actively enrolled at a college/university where an active chapter exists, and has not completed an undergraduate degree.

 

Qualifications for Undergraduate Membership 

 

            All potential members must meet these qualifications in order to be considered for membership intake into Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc.: 

 

• Actively enrolled in an institution of higher learning in which a chapter is located

• Must have a minimum of a 2.5 G.P.A. (out of 4.0 G.P.A. scale)

• Must have acquired a minimum of 12 credit hours prior to intake

• Actively involved in the fine and performing arts

• Must support the goals and purpose of Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc.

• Available to carry out the goals, purpose, and objectives of Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc.

• Must be able to uphold financial obligations to the Society

 

Qualifications for Graduate Membership 

• Completion of a baccalaureate degree, with at least a C+ cumulative average, or a graduate or professional degree (Ph.D., M.D., J.D., etc.) from an accredited college or university

  • C+ is equivalent to a 2.50 on a 4.0 scale if the school does not have a plus or minus on the grading scale

• Members must help promote, implement and extend policies and programs of Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc

 

Qualifications for Alumni Chapter Membership 

• Member must have been initiated thru a chapter at a college/university

• Member must be out of school for two (2) years or more and not have an undergraduate degree

• Alumni members are required to fulfill the purposes of Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc by giving community to local programs geared towards the fine and performing arts

• Members must help promote, implement and extend policies and programs of Tau Rho Beta Society, Inc.
